Situated in Southern Shan State, coffee has been grown in the Ywangwan township since the 1980’s, where it was planted to try and eradicate the opium growing in the region.
This coffee comes from smallholders on 1- 3 ha plots where they have mixed crops, livestock and shade trees to supplement the growing of coffee. Each daily lot is cupped, assessed and hand sorted to ensure the quality is as requested.
NOTE: These are whole beans: stick 'em in your food processor, blender or even use a pestle and mortar to grind if you're feeling bold and don't have a coffee grinder to hand.
